Philosophy

I am a recent (2022) PhD, having received my degree from the University of Chicago's interdisciplinary Committee on Social Thought, concentrating in philosophy. In between periods teaching in that University's Self, Culture, and Society sequence in the Division of the Social Sciences, I taught at Deep Springs College in the autumn of 2024 as a visiting professor. 

My scholarship and teaching center on Continental philosophy from Nietzsche onwards, but also create connections with other genres and fields, such as literature, theology, and comparative religions. My first book project explores the meaning and implications of the "death of God" announced by Nietzsche (see "Research" for more details).
